As someone who has been an active member of the Timber and PVC Caravan Decking Market for over 10 years working within the South Wales location I have written an article designed for giving advice to the Caravan owner.

With the revival of the Great British holiday, there is an ever increasing number of people deciding to ditch the continental package holidays and reverting back to the more traditional seaside resorts and Caravan park home holidays.

With this in mind there is one question that is repeatedly being asked of park owners  “ What Caravan Decking products are available on the Market  ?

The long and short of it is that there is no hard and fast rule as to what Decking you are able to use on your static Caravan park as it is usually at the discretion of the Caravan site owner or Park home owner. More often than not they will decide the type of Decking that they will authorise to be installed on their land.

Fire regulations have meant that in a number of locations Wooden decking is no longer permitted. Caravan Verandas or Decking products with a Metal sub frame are quickly becoming the popular Decking product of choice on Caravan and Park homes.

Decking Maintenance

High maintenance costs are putting the consumer off when it comes to Wooden decking. Caravan owners are looking for a low maintenance option. This can come in the way of PVC or Composite Decking.

Anti Slip Decking

Another important factor when a Caravan owner is looking to purchase a Deck is that of the Anti – Slip properties associated with the Decking. Timber decking can often become slippery when it is wet. However PVC and composite Decking products are available Fully ant-slip.

Caravan Decking aesthetic Continuity

A number of site owners are insisting on Plastic or PVC Decking systems designed at the Caravan market. This is so that the decking looks tidy and uniformed across the whole park as wooden decking can quite often look untidy if it is not well maintained.

Increased cost of Plastic Decking

The down side of all of these factors is CARAVAN DECKING COST. The cost of decking can quite often exceed £5000 on a large decked area using PVc or Composite decking as opposed to Timber decking which for the same size is likely to be around the £2000 mark.

It is always worth looking for a supplier of the Caravan Decking and Veranda products locally, Find a merchant that will offer the supply of the materials only. The supply and fit option for static Caravan Deckingcan often be a lot more expensive as the site will often take a cut for them selves.
