Quick-Step Bathroom and Kitchen Flooring
If someone came in they said I want kitchen or bathroom floor and I want something that's going to get wet I would advise them to buy vinyl flooring.
The old names for vinyl flooring would be Karndean or Amtico. They were the two main brand names of the old vinyl flooring. There was always a need to stick down this type of vinyl flooring.
However Quick-Step flooring has now brought out a range of vinyl flooring that clicks together. It's a vinyl product which means that it can be mopped.
It doesn't expand and contract and because it doesn’t expand or contract it can be used in bathrooms and kitchens which are high moisture areas.
Even though it is the perfect product a number of people will still go for a laminate in a kitchen or bathroom because the only time you'd have a real problem with laminate flooring is if you had a flood such as a washing machine leak or other similar quantities of water.
What thickness vinyl flooring is best?
Simply put – the thicker the higher the quality. The thickest vinyl planks can be anywhere from 5 mm - 8 mm thick.
Whilst these planks may cost more, they are also the most durable and usually look the most like real wood.
Can you put a refrigerator on vinyl plank flooring?
Whilst the refrigerator will provide no problem when it comes to moisture etc. it will create problems when it comes to siting or moving your refrigerator.
The weight, especially if you have one of the new ‘American’ style refrigerators can tear at the vinyl material causing damage to the flooring.
Is it better to glue or float vinyl plank flooring?
Vinyl plank flooring is designed to float making it a great choice for moisture rooms such as kitchens, bathrooms, and even bedrooms.
If the area to be covered is large or expansive it may be advisable to glue the boards for a more durable application.
